Shakeia Smith Wrapped In Healing Tears

Testimony: Wrapped in Healing Tears

In 2018, my heart was awakened through a song titled “Closer / Wrap Me in Your Arms” by William McDowell. As I listened, the words began to penetrate deeply, exposing, renewing, and replenishing a heart that had been hidden in darkness—broken by rejection and weighed down by unforgiveness.

Tears started to flow like a river. It felt as though a door within my heart was slowly opening, allowing God’s hand to reach in and begin His work of healing, washing, and cleansing wounds that I could not put into words.

During that moment, the Lord gave me a vision. I saw the reflection of a woman holding her heart, wrapped in the arms of the Lord. Her tears fell from her eyes, flowing over her heart and into a bottle. Immediately, the Holy Spirit brought this scripture to my remembrance:

“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book… This I know: God is on my side!”—Psalm 56:8–9 (NLT)

As the vision unfolded, I wept even more. I began to sketch what I saw, letting my pencil mirror the image on paper. At the same time, my mouth poured out the confusion and pain of my heart before the Lord. I made a decision in that moment to release it all and to forgive.

The Lord also reminded me of His Word:

“But if you do not forgive others… then your Father will not forgive your trespasses.” —Matthew 6:15 (AMP)

From this encounter came the image titled “Wrapped in Healing Tears.” But this vision did not come without a fight. It brought intense spiritual battles against my heart and mind. As my dear friend helped me bring the details of the image to life, the process was difficult and emotionally intense. It took a year and a half to complete. Through it all, I knew this was confirmation that the Lord’s powerful hand was upon this vision. To God be all the glory.

Today, this testimony stands as a reminder that the Lord is able to bring healing, deliverance, reconciliation, peace, love, joy, and forgiveness to any heart that is willing. He will expose what is hidden, renew what is broken, and replenish what has been drained by past hurts.

So I encourage you—do not resist the healing process. Release everything into the hands of the King, because He truly cares for you. Allow the Lord Jesus Christ to manifest His power in your life, and let Him wrap your heart in His healing tears.
